我乃博士名司马泉，
执教江城桂子之巅。
自幼习史遍察诸国，
能通十语批书万卷。
1、Sima Quan
Sima Quan is my name, a doctor of history,
Who is teaching on Laurelhill in Wuhan territory.
Thousands of books I have read since childhood, 
I know ten languages and history of every country.  

述而不作无书无文，
天命仍是讲师一衔。
不求名利专究人理，
欲察古今兴亡之变。
No book or thesis written while teaching,
I’m still a lecturer while I’m aging.
Not my fame but the human fate caring,
To find the laws of history I’m trying.

昨夜欣读《蒙古秘史》，
沉醉天骄成吉思汗。
凌晨就寝翩生奇梦，
日暮醒来记之成篇。
The Secret History of Mongolia is so interesting
That I read it last night till this morning.
Then I fell into sleep with a strange dream,
I wake up at sunset and record it in a poem.

2、成吉思汗
梦中我是成吉思汗，
生于塞北蒙古草原。
看惯金军烧杀掠奸，
亲睹父汗头陨血溅。
2、Genghis Kahn
I am the great Genghis Kahn in my dream,
Who was born in the Mongolian Grass Plain.
The Jin soldiers’ atrocities, countless in my brain,
They cut my father’s head, blood sprayed like rain.

苦练骑射誓灭金贼，
广交豪杰共图中原。
破蔑乞部雪夺妻恨，
弱冠尊为乞颜可汗。
I train hard in archery and riding, 
And swear to destroy the Kingdom Jin.
I defeat the Mieqi tribe to rescue my darling,
At the age of 20 I become the Qiyan King.

再报父仇取敌之头，
大败联军于阔亦田。
诸部皆破蒙古一统，
而立称帝漠北草原。
I revenge my father with my foe’s head,
And defeat the allied armies in Koyi Field.
Genghis Kahn is the new title I have had. 
Mongolia is thus united under my shield.

举兵伐金二十余载，
终破金国挥师中原。
亲征花剌顺灭夏辽，
南亡印度西吞俄蛮。
I launch the war against the Kingdom Jin,
After 20 years of hard fighting I finally win. 
Then I destroy countless nations in a chain,
From the East Asia to the East European plain.

纳雅受命征好望角，
哲别为帅取英格兰。
风卷残云势如破竹，
杀人无数凯歌而还。
Naya’s army marches southward to the Cape Good Hope,
Zhebie’s troop conquers the Europe to the island Britain. 
They defeat all nations and kill all resisters in their lope,
Move Like flood and return triumphant to Mongolian Plain.

每破一国必夺其宝，
杀减男丁掠其美眷。
欣看虏民泪流满面，
跪地乞饶卑骨奴颜。
Whenever I conquer a nation I take away its treasure，
Capture the beautiful females while decimate the males. 
To see the defeated people weep is my great pleasure,
Especially when they kneel to beg my pardon and no kills.

罗马称臣欧洲咸服，
麦加开罗皆朝本汗。
四洋之内莫非我土，
美洲得存恨无海船。
Rome obeys my rule and so does the whole Europe,
Mecca and Cairo also come to show their respect.
All nations within the four oceans are reigned by my rope, 
Without sea ships, I regret the America stays intact.

3、花衣笛手
罗马献来花衣笛手，
能歌善舞魔笛婉转。
城乡老少如醉如癫，
废寝忘食百听不厌。
3、The Magic Piper
Rome sends me a beautiful piper,
Whose song and dance are so perfect.
Her magic flute enchants every member
In my empire with incredible effect.

农夫闻笛不知播种，
商人闻笛错拨算盘。
婴儿闻笛停却吃奶，
女子闻笛忘做针线。
Farmers enjoy the flute and won’t plant,  
Merchants tend to miscalculate their account,
Babies are bound to stop sucking the breast,
Girls usually forget their housework and feast. 

举国上下一片狂欢，
最痴迷者却是少年。
笛声在东随之东去，
笛声在南随之南转。
All people in my empire are wild with joy,
The most enchanted are the lads, every boy.
They will go eastward with the flute sound,
Or southward or northward they follow around.

一个月夜笛声响起，
城乡少年鬼使神遣。
纷纷出门寻声而往，
千千万万一去不返。
The lads hear the flute sound one night,
And have their soul lost in the moonlight.
Millions of them go out to follow the flute,
Nobody returns, nothing remains in route.   


4、伊阿宋
麦加商人名伊阿宋，
渡过黑海翻越天山。
收购羊毛出售镜鉴，
驼队千匹抵达中原。
4、Jason
From Mecca comes Jason, the young merchant, 
Who rode across the Black Sea and the Sky Mount.
He purchases fleeces and sells mirrors along the road,
His commercial camels to one thousand amount.

玻璃明镜清澈精湛，
犹如眼睛可览真颜。
一张羊皮换一镜鉴，
女子争购如潮似澜。
His glass mirrors are so beautiful and clear
As the eyes that can see one’s real face and ear.
A piece of fleece can exchange for a mirror,
The girls come to buy in waves, far and near.   

女子喜镜更恋阿宋：
金发碧眼身材伟岸，
容貌英俊举止优雅，
声音甜美笑容灿烂。
The girls love Jason more than his mirrors,
Who looks so handsome almost without errors.
He is so high in stature with blond hairs,
His smile so bright , his manner so elegant in fairs. 

无数女子为之失眠，
锦书相邀排队求见。
言购镜鉴实欲结缘，
公主小姐忘礼失检。
Countless girls have sleepless nights for missing him,
They write him love letters or wait in line to visit him.
Pretending to buy mirrors they want to date him,
Even the princesses forget manners before him.

商队向北或是向南，
所到之处众芳难安。
为购镜鉴为见美男，
千万女子如痴如癫。
No matter where his camels will come,
They girls there will restless become.
For mirrors or for a man so handsome
Millions of girls go insane and foolsome. 
 
5、张仪
南宋旧臣张仪朝见，
言可造船伐印地安。
即令张仪监造海船，
灭印加国夺美利坚。
5、Zhangyi
Visitor Zhangyi was a minister of former Jin,
He will build seaships for me to attack Inca.
I’m glad to let him supervise the ship-building, 
And prepare to conquer and occupy America.

千军伐木万民造船，
耗尽国库砍光群山。
从海南岛到釜山湾，
楼船林立万里连绵。
Thousand armies cut woods and more people build ships,
They use up woods in mountains and money in treasuries.
From Hainan island to Fushan bay it’s thousands of miles,
Which, like a great chain, is alined with ships of three storeys.    

张仪忽报纳雅谋反，
欲取印加自立为汗。
即传密令诛杀逆叛，
良将千人皆去黄泉。
Zhangyi reports me the rebelling scheme of Naya,
Who wants to crown himself after conquering Inca.
I order to kill the conspirators secretly right away,
One thousand generals lose their lives in a light way.  

又报哲别鸣纳雅冤，
欲以神箭弑杀本汗。
即调禁军层层围歼，
二十万兵无一得免。
Zhangyi says, over Naya’s death Zhebie sorrows,
And wants to shoot me with his miracle arrows.
I besiege Zhebie’s army by layers of Royal Tigers,
And kill all his two hundred thousand soldiers.

却闻张仪传令烧船，
万里海岸火光冲天。
急令亲兵缉拿张贼，
此贼已逃投美利坚。
Then I hear Zhangyi set all of my ships on fire,
The conflagration along the sea coast kills my desire.
I send officers to catch that wicked liar,
But to America has fled the damned trojiar.


6、亡命
来年百万十字军犯，
个个皆是勇猛少年。
项挂耶稣手持长剑，
自西向东闻笛而战。
6、The death
The next year invade one million crusaders,
They are all young and brave teenagers.
With Jesus-necklaces and the long swords,
They fight with the flute sound eastwards .

蒙军再无哲别纳雅，
节节失败退守银川。
深陷重围无粮无援，
士气不振民心思变。
Without Zhebie and Naya as marshals,
The Mongolian troops can’t resist the invaders.
They retreat and retreat to Yingchuan city,
Which is besieged later by layers of enemy.   

汉金辽俄揭竿而起，
印阿意埃纷纷离叛。
蒙古军民仓皇溃逃，
世界帝国土崩瓦散。
People in China, Jin, Liao and Russia uprise together,
India, Arab, Egypt and Italia rebel one after another.
The Mongolian people flee away like rats in a hurry,
My World Empire collapses like avalanche suddenly.

忽然城前伊阿宋喊：
“一张羊皮换一镜鉴”。
城中女子蜂拥向前，
打开城门迎敌入殿。
“A mirror is sold for a piece of fleece,”
I hear Jason shout outside the city.
The girls in city swarm forward like bees,
They open the city gate to welcome the enemy.

仓皇出逃至六盘山，
路遇埋伏颈部中箭，
跌下战马不能动弹，
眼看追兵即到跟前。
From the city I escape, at the Liupan Mount I arrive,  
Being attacked from ambush my neck gets an arrow.
From my horse I fall down to ground and can’t move, 
I see the chasing troops are coming to my eyebrow.

“天救帝蒙天救本汗！”
竭力呼救无人来援，
万分惊恐浑身抖颤，
醒来方知梦中遇难！
“Help the Genghis Khan! Help my Empire! ”
No one comes to rescue, no matter how I scream. 
Being frightened to death I shiver in despair,
Suddenly I wake up and realize it’s just a dream!

7、叹语
蒙古大帝成吉思汗！
盖世英豪绝后空前！
打败你者唯你自己，
唯你女人和你儿男！
7、Exclamation
The great Mongolian emperor Genghis Khan, 
You are the superhero without match in history.
How could you be defeated finally by no one
but yourself, your boys and girls? It’s a mystery!
