在威严的山脚下
我问我是谁？
山回答：山脚下的一株野草

在盘根错节的老榕树下
我问我是谁？
树回答：你是树下的芨芨草

在呜咽的楠溪江边
我问我是谁？
江水回答：你是岸边的一颗鹅卵石

在宽阔的大海前
我问我是谁？
大海回答：
你是一粒沙

在高大的教堂前
我问我是谁？
主说：你是一只迷失的羔羊

在南普照寺里
我问佛我是谁？
佛说：你是一副皮囊

在一位捕鱼的老者面前
我问我是谁？
老者回答：你是网里的一条鱼

最后，我问我自己我是谁？
我什么都是，也什么都不是。

Who am I?

At the foot of the majestic mountain
Who am I, I asked?
The mountain replied: A weed at the foot of the mountain

Under the intertwined old banyan tree
Who am I, I asked?
The tree replied: You are the wild grass under the tree

On the side of the whimpering Nanxijiang River
Who am I, I asked?
The water  replied: You are a pebble on the shore

In front of the tremendous sea
Who am I, I asked?
The sea answers:
You are a grain of sand

In front of the tall church
Who am I, I asked?
The Lord said, "You are a lost lamb."

In the temple of Nanpuzhao
I asked the Buddha who am I?
The Buddha said, "You are a sheet of skin."

In front of an old fisherman
Who am I, I asked?
The old man replied, "You are a fish in a net."

Finally, I asked myself who am I?
I am everything but also nothing.
